Through exceptional hospitality and memorable experiences, they encourage visitors to return and recommend our community to others.

Their leadership, involvement, and achievements are helping build a stronger business community.

Requirements

The nominee must:

  • Be between 19 and 39 years of age as of September 1, 2026.
  • Have held a leadership role for at least two years as of September 1, 2026.
  • Leadership experience may include multiple organizations, businesses, or sectors.
  • The nominee must be affiliated with a business or organization that is located and operating in the South Okanagan.
  • The nominee is not required to own a business or currently work for the organization where their leadership experience was gained.
  • Self-nominations are not accepted. Nominations must be submitted by a mentor, colleague, peer, employer, or community leader.

  • Nominee must be 40 years of age or older as of September 1, 2026.
  • Nominee must have at least four years of experience in a leadership, ownership, or executive role as of September 1, 2026.
  • Leadership experience may include multiple roles, businesses, or sectors.
  • The nominee must be affiliated with a business or organization that is located and operating in the South Okanagan.
  • Nominee is not required to own a business or currently work for the organization where their leadership experience took place.
  • Self-nominations will not be accepted. A mentor, colleague, peer, employer, or community leader must submit the nomination.

Respected by its customers, employees, and the community, the recipient is recognized for operating with integrity, embracing innovation, supporting its people, and making a lasting contribution to the South Okanagan.

Requirements

To be eligible for the Business of the Year Award, the business must:

  • Be a for-profit business located and operating in the South Okanagan (Penticton, Summerland, Naramata, Kaleden, Okanagan Falls, Oliver, or Osoyoos).
  • Have been in continuous operation for at least five years as of September 1, 2026.
  • Hold a current business license, where applicable.
  • Businesses that received the Business of the Year Award in 2023, 2024, or 2025 are not eligible to receive the award again in 2026.
